Wow blogging after awhile. What to do I got caught with my new work and most importantly my Masters surround sound project based on stories of lord Ganesha. Well lets do a recap. My sister, Sharene arrived from Tasmania to visit us. Losh and I missed her dearly and we were very trilled to see. We had loads of fun, It was like old time when we lived togather in this very house. We made a trip down to visit our Australian Grandmother, Thelma. We gave her a suprise and she was extremely happy to see us all:). Losh baked cake for her and we there till about 8pm chatting with her. We missed her so much and she was looking so much younger from the last time we met her.
I got extremely busy with my final year Masters project as I have to conduct various recording session in order to complete my project namely, carnatic music recording (BGM Music for my project, I recorded a veena and table on the 16th of June. It was fun as I was recording something different and new, something close to my heart), Voice overs, and Foley sound recording (Discrete sound recording of footsteps - typically sound of footsteps along with anklets, we had this recording session last week as losh was kind enough to wear her kolluse(anklets) and help me with the recording, Rumbling of silver plate falling and hitting the ground, footsteps of Lord Ganesha running in the forrest, we used shredded paper to simulate the sound of someone running on the grass:) and few other stuff like ball bouncing off the ground, etc. We had loads of fun in the recording studio-Loshini, Ravin, Manamohan and I:) Well I will bring more updates with my project in the next blog because I am working tomorrow and I have to go to bed:(:(...have got heaps of work to be done at my work place tomorrow:(..
First and foremost congratulation Head Master and Happy Mother's day!!!! My mum is like a beautiful little flower that is so vibrant, colourful and unique. She is my role model and my idol:)...I have always adored her for a incredible ability, positive mindset, and countless achievements....Amma, I am so very proud of you...I am proud to be your daughter and I guess I am the luckiest daughter to have had her mother as her teacher and her sports coach for 5 years!!! I can always hear her cheering whenever I am close to the finishing line(athletics- 400m 200m, 4x100 and 4x400). I never left her sight even for a minutes as I was always with her where ever she goes. I can still recall the days she used to bring me to school when I was young during sports practice or any cultural program. She has taught Sultan Ahmad Shah secondary school for almost 25 years and continued her teaching career in Ringlet Secondary School before taking the post as Headmaster in Kampung Raja Secondary School.
She has had amazing times during her teaching days in Sultan Ahmad Shah and Ringlet but at the same time she did encounter bitter moments during her teaching voyage, which she handled them with full confidence and tranquility. She never gave up hope in what she believes in and she had faith that everything will be alright( eventually everything was fine). That is what makes her so special and unique; one of a kind compared to any other teachers that I have met (again sorry for being bias but that is the truth...and I am not saying this because she is my mum but this is what people say about). She is Amazing..simple amazing. Diligent, poise and extremely good at what she does. Her students are always at ease when they go over to meet her and my mother always treat them as her own children. Amma, the school that you are currently teaching is extremely lucky to have you as their head master.
EDUCATION
My mother did her primary education in Tanah Rata Tamil School in Cameron Highlands. I must say this...Amma please forgive me...hehehe...My mother changed her name on the first day of school, she didn't like her name and when her teacher asked her, what is your name, she answered "Malliga" instead of "Nachammal"...hehehehe.... Some people who are close to her do address her as Malliga in Cameron Highlands
(Taken from Sinnakoundan blog spot)She continued her secondary education in SMK Sultan Ahmad Shah in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands and her Pre University education in St Micheal's Institution in Ipoh, Perak. After completing her Pre U, she was admitted to University Malaya where she completed her Bachelors in Economics in 1983. Then she did her Diploma in Education in University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1984.

Few weeks ago, we (Sangeetha, Ravin loshini) watched a very beautiful and exquisite movie, namely Abhiyum Naanum; the movie portrayed a relationship between a father and his daughter and how the father loved, cared and nourished his daughter right from birth till adulthood. I must say, it is, indeed a movie that is dedicated to all fathers, all around the world. The only person that was in my mind when I was watching the movie was non other than my dearest father, Dr. S. Vijayakumar. Every aspect of the movie reminded me so much about him and how he looked after me, my brother and my sister; I was missing him so much, I am sure my sister and my brother felt the same way too.
I might be sounding a little selfish but, I have not met anyone like my dad before. My father is a precious little gem that is priceless, divine and so unique. I feel so proud of him whenever his patients or his friends speak highly about him or greet him with full respect and dignity. He is well respected amongst his fellow peers and the Cameron Hihglands community for his sincere dedication towards his career as a doctor and his positive attributes and qualities. My mother always says"You can feel a positive vibe when you are around good people" I feel that vibe very strongly when I am either with my dad or my mum. The best thing about him is, he goes all out to provide us the best of the best...well let me stress the word "THE BEST" of everything. He always thinks about us, our future and what is best for us; he has bought every single thing we requested for but he quiet rarely thinks about buying something that he loves or desire the most. However, 1 day he did buy something that is close to his heart. My dad has a craze for cars, especially Mercedes Benz. He owned and drove a great deal of Mercedes Benz, like the 123 model, E 220 and E 230. We were all so trilled when he finally bought his dream car, the S class 280 Mercedes Benz. I was with my dad when he collected his beautiful Black Mercedes Benz. Trust me it was beautiful and I was in cloud nine to see my dad smiling and driving his new car. His car looks brand new up until today.
I have an Album of myself when I was young. My sweet loving Grandmother compiled the pictures and created this Album for me before I left to Australia. I love her to the core!!! There are so many pictures of me, my parents and my family. I really looked so cute with my Afro hair style!!!..hehehe...I go through the pictures in my Album when I am missing home, my parents and my family. It just brings back little little memories that I cherish and relive forever. One of it is the days when my dad use to bring us(me,my brother and sister) for a walk every Sunday morning in his Red Isuzu Trooper,; we were so young. Sundays are his day off. He spends time with us by bring us out for a walk. Our usual walking path is the Jalan Tengkolok (A turning near the Tanah Rata Polis Station, Cameron Highlands - It is a long straight road that ends at the golf course near Merlin Hotel, which is known as Cameron Highlands Resort, Well we use to start our walk from this end of the road, near the golf course). As I recall, my dad use to park his Trooper inside a small beautiful looking mini jungle in Jalan tengkolok. I always felt that jungle would be mesmerizing if they had a small waterfall; use to picture it in my mind every single time my dad parks his car over there when I was young:)(the area does not exist anymore, how sad!!!). The walk was pretty short but I always felt like I have achieved something great, that is to complete the walk with my dad. Surprisingly, once in a while we do encounter with snakes around that area when it is extremely cold. My dad has pulled me like a million times when I am about to step on one of them because they look like a stick from a distance. Okay people.... I will consider that as an excuse:( Let me rephrase that... Whenever I day dream or not pay attention to where I am walking. That happens quite often and my dad has also warned me to keep my eyes open like a million times....hehehe. After our well satisfied walk, he brings us to Strawberry Farm (the one opposite the Golf Course) to eat some Strawberries. We love to eat them with sugar. That is how my dad spends time with us after a whole week of working.
That jogging path is a historic path because that is our usual jogging track until today. My dad and I always go for a jog when he closes his clinic between 4-6pm. Our long track is about 9KM (Brinching Murugan Temple- Taman Sedia-Tanah Rata Town-Jalan Tengkolok-Cameron Highlands Resort/Golf Course- Brinchang Temple) and our short track, 4KM (We start from the Brinchang Temple jog all the way through to Strawberry Park Hotel, The Sultan's Palace, Sikh Temple and finally back to the Temple). This is how I spend my time with my dad....by going for a jog with him every evening; it is healthy plus we share quite a number of things together, like my father's childhood stories, his mischievous childhood prank that is used to play along with his best friend, our family well wisher and uncle- Samba peripa, my father's life in India when he was Studying Medicine, stories about my uncles/aunties (his brothers and sisters) when they were young, My grandparents, His marriage, his friend, his pleasant days during his youth and after marriage, his unpleasant encounters and difficult moments that he had to endure and so on. I am missing my jogging moments with my dad ever since I left to Australia to study, but I told to myself that I will never miss a single minute to go for a jog with him when I am back for my break and I did just that!!! Can you believe my dad is turning 58 but I sincerely feel he looks like he is in his late 40s and early 50s because he is so fit and healthy!!! WELL DONE APPA!!!
All I want to say is Thank you so much appa for everything!!!! We are so blessed for the love that you have showered upon us and a wonderful life that you have given us. Losh, Ravin and I, love you so much and we feel so happy whenever we hear appa's voice on the phone. We are really missing both amma and appa so very much. I am also glad that we gave appa a watch as a gift when appa came over to Perth last yer for my graduation. I always wanted to get appa something nice and I finally did with my own money, which is indeed, a dream come through for me!!!
We gave appa a surprise party in Samba Peripa's house
Happy birthday my love..Oh my god you are turning 4 years old...Harresh turned 4 on the 14th of May...Well this is reminding me that I am getting old!!!...oh nooooo..hehehehe..just kidding...
All of us were talking about him today and how he lightens everybody's day by his charming little talk about cars, his friend, his "Hammy", parents and so on....We adore him up to the core:)...Hope you had a wonderful celebration with, appa, amma and all your friends at school little champion!!!
